✦ Visual direction and design by Denver-based artist Gillian
Gillian works in mixed media and paper, capturing emotional depth through subtle shadows and brushwork. For this project, she transformed fleeting happiness into textured compositions, each one a poetic interpretation of something deeply personal and quietly radiant.
Her fascination with light and form gives each “track” a tactile kind of presence—soft, imperfect, alive.
Each “track” on this CD holds a moment that made life feel brighter: unexpected compliments, sudden light, stillness, and laughter.
There is no music here.
Only fragments of memory, translated through shape, color, and feeling.
These are not just stories.
They are the invisible tracks you hum when no one is watching.
🟠 PART 2｜A Box of Light
🎁 A limited edition collaboration between Golden Flakes and Gillian
If joy could be packed into a box, it might look like this.
The Golden Flakes × Gillian collaboration set isn’t just a collection of items—it’s a story told through texture, tone, and tiny treasures.
Each piece was designed to evoke a feeling: of warmth, of memory, of light. Together, they form a small, glowing world.

Three original chip designs, each paired with a different flavor and one of Gillian’s artworks.
Each bag reflects a different emotion—playful, grounding, and introspective.
Wear your mood.
A relaxed-fit shirt featuring a cropped section of one of Gillian’s illustrations.
Soft tones and irregular lines, something that doesn’t shout but stays with you.
Personal, honest, kind.
Designed like a note from a friend.
Each message is hand-lettered and full of softness, because connection deserves texture.
Nature meets the artist’s hand.
A real, hand-picked leaf, each one unique in shape, texture, and life.
On top of that fragile surface, Gillian painted directly by hand, transforming a moment of nature into a moment of art.
It’s a small, delicate reminder that beauty doesn’t need to be big. It just needs to be real.
This box isn’t about what you get, it’s about how it makes you feel.
It’s the crinkle of a bag.

The way a tiny drawing can say exactly what you needed to hear.
And more than anything, it’s a collaboration built on belief in beauty, in detail, and in the light inside ordinary things.
🔵 PART 3｜Shared Belief Space
✨ Where design becomes a conversation
This isn’t just a brand and an artist.
This is a shared belief.
During the early research phase of creating Golden Flakes, I realized that a lot of snack brands today are missing something human. Of course, flavor and quality matter, and they should. But I also believe that a good brand needs a story and an emotional connection. That’s how you build something people want to come back to.
In an age where everything moves fast and people are just trying to keep up, I wanted Golden Flakes to offer a small sense of hope. Not just through taste, but through warmth—through stories that feel kind, or even just a quiet moment to breathe.
That’s why Gillian’s work felt like such a natural fit. Her art captures those small moments of happiness that most people overlook. She takes everyday emotions and turns them into something beautiful. I also really admire how she blends 2D and 3D elements to create unique, tactile pieces. Our collaboration isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about shared values. And that’s what made it work.
Crispness isn’t just texture.
It’s a sensation of clarity.
We wanted to create something that feels like a deep breath on a good day.
We don’t just make snacks.
We bottle light.
Art should be personal and alive.
Paper breathes. Leaves remember.
Shadows are as important as light.
I don’t want to explain emotions, I want to hold them gently.
Together, we created something that neither of us could’ve made alone.
